Founded by Harvey Milk in 1974, Castro Street Fair is a community street celebration that located in the heart of San Francisco’s Castro District, at the intersection of Market & Castro Streets and the surrounding area.
Hundreds of local artists, vendors, craftspeople, and organizations line the streets and celebrate the diversity of the neighborhood. Stages with live entertainment and dance stages can be found throughout the fairgrounds.
As a thriving arts and culture event, the Castro Street Fair features multiple stages of live entertainment, dance areas, fine arts, interactive performance art, and street theater. More than 180 local entertainers perform annually; and more than 200 vendors and community groups set up exhibits at the event. Add the tasty food offerings and adult beverage booths, and you’ve got the recipe for a great day in one of the most fabulous neighborhoods in San Francisco.
